Tag Switch: A Revolution in Switch Design

The inspiration for Tag Switch came from the observation of the confusion users often face due to the increasing number of non-clearly defined switch devices in large spaces. The traditional solution to this problem has been to attach different stickers to the switches to help users identify the respective lightings. However, this method is not aesthetically pleasing and the stickers easily fall off.

The unique property of Tag Switch is its innovative design that enables users to clearly identify which switch controls which light. It features a small slot above the switch where a light label can be placed. The installation is simple and practical - different printed labels are inserted into different slots. There is a small hole in the notch of the label plate, allowing users to use smaller tools to eject the label paper.

Tag Switch is based on a modular design and is made up of fire-proof ABS plastic, manufactured by injection moulding. The product's design is environmentally friendly and doesn't require a high investment in intelligent technology. The engineers only needed to design a small flute, making it cost-effective and easy to maintain.

The design process of Tag Switch started in May 2016 in Shenzhen and was completed in August 2017. The project involved extensive research, including development research, observation, interviews, and data collection. The research involved 53 enterprises, 21 families, and a total of 2431 people. The results showed that 92.8% of users found that the current switch design didn't provide a good user experience, and 86.2% found intelligent switches complicated to use.

Tag Switch has received the prestigious Golden A' Lighting Products and Fixtures Design Award in 2018. This award is granted to marvelous, outstanding, and trendsetting creations that reflect the designer's prodigy and wisdom. They are venerated products and bright ideas that advance art, science, design, and technology, embodying extraordinary excellence and significantly impacting the world with their desirable characteristics.
